Material is thin, but definitely comfortable and breathable on a very hot summers day. My Daughter seems very comfortable in it, she was active running around and playing .I would say if your baby has a longer torso it may be a bit low-cut but having a halter top with string definitely helped adjust it. Strings are long enough where you don't have to worry about cutting into the back of the baby's neck when tying your knot. Overall was comfortable for my baby to wear at her birthday gathering.
